WNBA SEMIFINALS — GAME 2
The margins are small, but the stakes are enormous.
Atlanta took Game 1 against New York 92–82, while Golden State stunned Las Vegas 71–60 to seize control of the other semifinal. Now both trailing teams face the pressure of avoiding an 0–2 deficit. WNBA

NEW YORK LIBERTY (+1.5) vs ATLANTA DREAM (-1.5)
Atlanta deserved its Game 1 victory. The Dream forced New York into 21 turnovers and converted those mistakes into 32 points, while Jordin Canada erupted for 25 points and DeWanna Bonner delivered 23 off the bench. New York Post
But Game 2 contains one important variable: Allisha Gray is out with a hand injury. Atlanta's leading scorer is a major piece on both ends of the floor, and her absence makes repeating Game 1's offensive production more difficult. New York Post
For New York, the adjustment is fairly obvious: protect the basketball and get Jonquel Jones more involved. Sabrina Ionescu scored 27 in Game 1, but New York's offense became too turnover-prone and Atlanta repeatedly converted those mistakes into transition opportunities. New York Post
Breanna Stewart, Jones and Ionescu also give New York enough veteran playoff experience to respond after a poor opening performance.
Atlanta's pressure defense remains the biggest reason not to underestimate the Dream. If Canada, Angel Reese and Bonner reproduce the defensive intensity of Game 1, New York could again find itself playing at Atlanta's preferred tempo.
SE360 VIEW
This is extremely close.
Atlanta has home court, momentum and the better recent head-to-head result. New York, however, gets +1.5 points in a near pick'em game while Atlanta loses Gray.
That little cushion matters.
SE360 TIP: NEW YORK LIBERTY +1.5 @ 1.95
Projected score: New York 84 – Atlanta 82
Grade: B+
This is a lean rather than a maximum-confidence selection.
LAS VEGAS ACES (+1.5) vs GOLDEN STATE VALKYRIES (-1.5)
Game 1 provided much stronger evidence.
Golden State beat Las Vegas 71–60, and the performance was built on defense and rebounding rather than unsustainable hot shooting. The Valkyries collected 52 rebounds and held a massive 17–2 advantage on the offensive glass. Gabby Williams produced 25 points and 11 rebounds. Golden State Valkyries
That is important because it suggests Golden State didn't simply steal Game 1.
They controlled areas of the game that can carry over.
Las Vegas' stars still produced most of its offense, but the supporting cast struggled. A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young accounted for 51 of the Aces' 60 points, while Golden State received considerably more production from its depth. DraftKings Network
There are also health concerns for Vegas. Jewell Loyd entered Game 2 listed doubtful with a leg injury, while Dana Evans and Stephanie Talbot were also dealing with injury questions. Yahoo Sports
Golden State therefore has three things SE360 likes in a short-spread situation:
Home court + defensive matchup + rebounding advantage.
Las Vegas unquestionably has championship pedigree and Wilson is capable of changing a series almost single-handedly. That prevents this from reaching A+ territory.
But at only -1.5, we don't need Golden State to dominate again. We simply need the Valkyries to win by two.
SE360 VIEW
Golden State's Game 1 performance looked repeatable.
The Valkyries defended, controlled the glass and prevented Las Vegas from getting enough secondary scoring around Wilson.
SE360 PICK: GOLDEN STATE VALKYRIES -1.5 @ 1.88
Projected score: Golden State 78 – Las Vegas 72
Grade: A-
SE360 FINAL BOARD
🔥 TOP PICK — Golden State Valkyries -1.5 @ 1.88 — A-
🎯 SECOND LEAN — New York Liberty +1.5 @ 1.95 — B+
The Valkyries are the stronger SE360 position because Game 1 revealed structural advantages — particularly defense, depth and rebounding.
New York +1.5 is more of a situational play. Atlanta remains dangerous, but Allisha Gray's absence plus the possibility of a cleaner Liberty offensive performance makes taking the point and a half attractive.
SE360 Cardinal Call: Golden State -1.5 is the one we'd circle first.
